An Australian man that leaped over a barricade and reached for actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and prohibited from Singapore.

The individual, 26, was given a sentence to more than a week in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the country's border control told news outlets.

The man shoved through camera crews and charged at the celebrity, who was participating in the Asian debut for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

The individual has a record of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including leaping onto the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The incident caused anger in Singapore, with several individuals accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The singer has mentioned experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the UK city in several years ago took the lives of 22 people and affected hundreds.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had tried to gain access on the movie's debut twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a follow-up try to cross the barriers. Security staff intercepted him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted video clips appreciating the celebrity for permitting his access and said he was "at liberty."

Police detained him the subsequent day and accused him with causing a disturbance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The District Judge the magistrate was referenced by Channel News Asia as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", commenting that he was mistaken to think he would not suffer any consequences.

The singer has not addressed the case.

Cynthia Erivo discussed the incident to NBC, remarking that she "simply desired to ensure my friend was protected."

"I think he didn't intend us injury, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I wanted to make sure that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she said.
