Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's success, its gifted cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards during the show.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by experts.
